Need Help?

Some of our clients are struggling with short term needs due to a loss of job or illness, while others have longer term needs. We feed the very young, our most senior citizens and everyone in between.  Regardless of your situation, if you are struggling to meet your food needs, we are here to help.

We are a client choice food shelf where you are able to shop for selections that meet your family's preferences.
Please make an appointment so we are better able to serve you.

Shop Twice per Month (FREE)

Patrons are able to shop twice per month. Our front section is filled with fresh produce, bread, a few shelf-stable foods, and deli items. Our back section contains foods typical of a grocery store, such as canned fruits and vegetables, cereals and grains, proteins (peanut butter, canned meats, beans, and frozen meats), milk, cheese, eggs, meal kits, and snacks. We also carry pet food and a limited selection of personal care items and household cleaning items. The entire food shelf is open Monday through Friday. On Saturdays, only the front section is open.

Patrons can place their groceries in a provided shopping cart and select products based on your household’s needs, with a few exceptions. Volunteer staff will assist with the dairy products and frozen foods. All food must be weighed before leaving. (We track incoming and outgoing food quantities by weight for our reporting requirements.) We cannot accept any payment for the food you receive.

The food found in the foyer (between WCFS and Pennywise Thrift Store) is available for anyone to take without an appointment at any time that the building is open. Please help yourself, there is no need to check in with anyone.

If you need food immediately and cannot wait for an appointment, we can provide a pre-packed box of dry goods for walk-ins.

Eligibility Guidelines can be found HERE

We require each household to complete a TEFAP form. We have printed copies available in several languages.

Our Programs

  • Each household must register with our program to be eligible to shop twice per month. Please note that on Saturdays, only the front section is open. Both sections are open Monday through Friday. If you do not have an appointment, pre-packed emergency boxes (dry goods) are provided, and limited fresh items are available in the foyer.

  • Our church partners stock Little Free Food Huts in the local area. These are located at Bethel, Mount Olive, and St. John’s. Look for more to be added in the next year.

  • We provide baskets of popular holiday meal foods before Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. We also cooperate with the Mound American Legion to provide a free community meal on Thanksgiving.

  • Church partners often host free farmer’s markets in the summer and fall.

  • Local Westonka schools are supplied with food for students without any snacks.

  • A small satellite food shelf is located in the Gillespie Center for the convenience of our senior community.
